SGS offers BRC Consumer Products certification for the manufacturers of medical devices. Large retailers in UK, Europe and USA (e.g. Wal-Mart, Metro, Tesco) who wish to sell medical devices under their own brand often require the manufacturer to have certification to BRC Global Standard – Consumer Products to demonstrate full due diligence with respect to consumer protection aspects. This is in addition to the required regulatory certification. SGS UK was the first body to be UKAS accredited for this certification and is approved by all major retailers for all products covered by the standard including medical devices. This certification can be stand alone or combined with ISO 13485 or regulatory certification such as CE marking. These services are available through your local SGS office.
